Writing this blog post after a really long time. I was just busy doing other things and somehow couldn’t give time to this. But, today is the day where I’m writing my third blog. Wondering, what is this blog all about?

Yes, you’ve guessed it right, it’s about food or rather a food festival which I attended last year before the pandemic in Bangalore, India.

It was a 3-day festival and probably the biggest food festival in India with a widespread of cuisine and also various artists (National and International) perform here during the 3 days. I first went to this festival in 2019 and fell in love with it, maybe, I will keep going every year (there you go, jinxed it!). I will share few pictures that were clicked during both the years (2019 and 2020) I had been there. Sure I have some good memories captured in those images.

That’s my friend Darshana! :)
Parvaaz, this was the second time I saw them live :) I guess this was shot in GoPro :D
Tanmay Bhatt, having an imaginary conversation with Salman Bhai
Shaam bhi koi jaise hai nadi, lehar lehar jaise beh rahi hai..
Chicken Wings..(they had some crazy name and didn’t taste good at all)
The entry :D

In the year 2019, artists like Jay Sean, Divine, Parvaaz had performed. There was a stand up by Sonali Thakker (no one laughed at her jokes, except her). Then came Varun Thakur and stole the show. In 2020, Ritviz, Nikhil D’Souza, Hardy Sandhu, Tanmay Bhatt and many other artists performed.

Talking of artists/ bands, I would say the voice and pitch of Pravaaz’s lead singer is mind-blowing. He is a Kashmiri I guess, and man he is blessed with such amazing vocals. I still remember when I saw them perform live for the first time in Fandom, Koramangala in Bangalore, I loved them. I had never heard of Parvaaz before and I just went to Fandom because a friend had asked me to accompany her. After that, I made sure I listen to a few of their tracks and I must say, they have a different kind of music and most of their lyrics are in Kashmiri. If you want to listen to their songs here is my suggestion — Gul Gulshan, Beparvah.

When Jay Sean was performing, in 2019, I was recording and then Darshana just said “why do you have to record everything? Just have few things for your memory and enjoy the moment”. I couldn’t agree more and instantly kept my phone and GoPro in my pocket and enjoyed the moment. What she said was true and even I have felt the same sometimes, that its best to enjoy few moments and keep them in our memory rather than storing them in our phone’s memory.

Talking about food, let me recollect what I ate at Zomaland in 2019, chicken roll, some wok (I love Chinese cuisine) and a drank decent amount of alcohol. During Zomaland 2020, we tasted momos, chicken wings (which didn’t taste good at all), vada pav, tried Kingfisher Witbier (never had such bad witbier in my life). There was a section that had authentic Singapore food, for some reason I didn’t try anything there but, now I feel I should have.

It feels so good to revisit all these pictures once again and cherish all the memories. Fun fact, the 2020 Zomaland in Bangalore was in the first weekend on February ’21, no one would have ever thought this would be our last event, before getting locked down due to the pandemic.

We ate, drank, laughed and danced without worrying about anything and today, we doubt every second person we meet or see, thinking they might be positive. Wash hands and maintain distance, these were things that we hardly followed before the pandemic. It’s funny how things changed exactly after a month after the Zomaland 2020.
